FOXTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

COMMITTEE MEETING

A committee meeting 1 of the Foxton Horticultural Society was held in Ross’s rooms on Tuesday evening, presided over 'by Mr. W. S. Heyes (president). Also present were Messrs Jas. Ross, T. Hughes, Revs. Edmondson and Walton, Mesdames Heasman and Murphy and the secretary (Mr. E. J. Murphy). The secretary submitted ’a bal-ance-sheet in connection with the Spring show which disclosed a satisfactory state of affairs under the circumstances.

Accounts amounting to £29 8/were passed for payment. It was decided to forward a letter of sympathy to Mr. N. Cresswell in his illness.

The secretary reported having received the following offers in connection with the Summer shorv: — Points prize of shrubs and plants to the value of 1-0/6 and bulbs to the value of £1 1/- from Madame De Roux and Mi*. L. J. Weight-man respectively. It was decided to hold a special general meeting of the Society in the All 'Saints’ Sunday school room at 7.30 p.m. on Monday next to discuss the schedule for the Summer Show and also to consider the question of suitably celebrating the 'Society’s twenty-first anniversary which takes place this year. •
