The chairman moved that it was a matter of urgency that the Mali tnvatu Centre be appointed a bowltesting centre, and on his motion, Mr. C. D. Fraser was nominated as tester. It had proved too costly a matter to have the Wanganui tester visit, so it was decided to apply to the 'Dominion Bowling: Association for permission to have a local officer.
It was resolved that clubs should be informed that the council’s rules would be strictly adhered to, in. that only tested bowls should be used in match play. On moving the adoption of the report, the chairman explained that, although the receipts of last season were not large, the sum of £lO6 13/4 was in hand. It had not been necessary to levy upon the various clubs but with the forthcoming Canadian tour in view, there would certainly be a draw on the moneys in hand. It was decided to write to the Dominion Association, asking that Manawatu be included in the itinerary.
Mr. Bartholomew moved that the Otaki Club be written "to asking them to reconsider their decision to affiliate with the Wellington Centre and this was decided upon. HEW -YEAR TOURNAMENT.
; Considering that a larger representation would be the outcome if the New Year tournament were made a pairs event, Mr. Christie brought forward a remit from the Foxton Club to that effect. It was pointed out that representation of clubs at the tournament had fallen off.
A larger number of greens would be required for pairs, said the chairman, in explaining that the entrance fee mould have to he raised to 12/6 per player. If this sum proved excessive, a reorganisation would be necessary. On the motion of MV. Fraset; it was decided that, in view of the fact that clubs objected to such a large number officiating at tournaments, seven representatives, together with ex-officials,- would be sufficient, such members onh--would have the responsibility of carrying out the tournament. The following were elected as tournament executive : Messrs ,J. B. Gejrrand, A. E. Cooksley, B. Morris, N. H. Nash, J. R. Cunninghame, D. Christie and the Rev. Canon Petrie.
GENERAL.

The Dominion Bowling Association wrote asking if the Manawatu Centre would support a proposal to pay members of the New Zealand Council expenses at the rate of £1 a day while attending meetings.
