GUILTY OF SHEEP-STEALING

FARMER. CONDUCTED

Hamilton, August 29

After a three days’ hearing, Herbert Henry Ellis, aged 28, a farmer, of Te Ivuiti, was found guilty of stealing 58 sheep belonging to William Gadsby . The jury made a recommendation to mercy on account of the fact, that the sheep strayed on to his property and lie did not deliberately set out to steal them. Sentence was postponed.
