RATES IN OTAKI BOROUGH

A Government Bill in charge of the Minister of Internal Affairs lias been introduced to give effect to the recommendations of the commission which inquired into the rating o£ lands in the Otaki Borough and adjoining areas relieving farm lands of the full burden of borough rates. Tim Bill will operate from the April 1, 1930, Avlien the borough boundaries will he changed as the commission defined and classification of lands on the lines set down in the report will operate together with the special conditions Avhich tiie commission recommended should apply to the £19,000 sewerage loan 1 and charges for water supply.
