SHIPPING.

THE A.S. FOXTON. The a.s. Foxton, recently built in Auckland for the Canterbury S.S. Company to tirade between Foxton and southern ports, left Auckland last night on her maiden voyage to Foxton via Wellington and will also pick up a Foxton cargo at the latter port. The vessel is due to arrive at Foxton on Tuesday morning. Mr. IT. Osborne, the local agent, consulted with the principals at Christchurch last week, and details were settled in reference to a continuous service between Foxton and southern ports. Thursday’s Auckland Herald publishes a photograph of the new steamer. The s.s. Himatangi arrived at the local wharf last evening with a cargo of 240 tons of grain and general from Lyttelton and Wellington. The Himatangi is due at Foxton again on Tuesday with a cargo of 'cement from T'arakohe and is expected to sail .the same day for Lyttelton to again load for Foxton.
