PERSONAL.
Mrs. H. E. Garbett is at present spendng a holiday in Gisborne. Mr. E. J. Harvey, of Blenheim, paid a brief visit to Foxton last week. Mrs. F. 'Spiers, of Wellington, is at present on a short visit to Foxton. The friends of Mrs. T. McGee will regret to learn that there is no improvement in her condition. The death occurred at her daughter’s (residence, Mrs. Pope, of Wanganui, yesterday, of Mrs. M. P. B. Jensen, aged 71 years. Deceased was Ihe mother of Mrs. D. Purcell, of Foxton. The friends of Mrs. J. V. Bell, who is at present an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital will be pleased to learn that she is progressing favourably, but it will be some months before she is able to leave the institution. While grubbing rushes on his farm recently Mr. F. Lucinsky, Avenue Road, met with a painful accident. The implement slipped and inflicted a deep wound in his foot, severing a tendon. As a result of the accident Mr. Lucinsky has since been confined to his home. The vacancy in the secretaryship of the Health Department, caused by the recent resignation of Mr. Killick, has been filled by the appointment of Mi’. A. von Heisenberg, of Wellington, who has been associated with hospital administration since joining the public service in 1908. He is at present secretary of the Hospital Boards’ Association. In 1921 he was secretary to the Royal Commission on Hospitals.
