MAYOR TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS PARKING REGULATIONS.

When discussion was at its height at last night’s annual meeting; of the Fox ton 'Racing Club, the telephone iwas heard to ring and the secretary was momentarily called away from the meeting. On his return a whispered conversation took place between that official and the President, at the conclusion of which Mr. Barber interrupted 'the discussion by announcing' that the traffic inspector had just rung up to say a number of car’s belonging to those attending the meeting were wrongly parked in Main Street and that they would have to be shifted to the pa liking places provided. It would have, been a difficult matter for alb those concerned to leave the meeting and commence shuffling up their ealrs, but the Mayor was seen to quietly leave the room. He returned,a few minutes later and jan'hnuneed with a broad smile: “Gentlemen, you have the freedom cf the city.” He was accorded a round of applause fotr his action at the conclusion of which a voice was heard to remark:- “The nest time I get. my cow in tiro pound I’ll ring up Mark Perreau.”
