A pleasant time was spent on the Herrington Golf Links on Saturday when the Shannon Club paid its animal visit. The 'weather was ideal and the course in good order. The match was full of interest and keenly contested throughout, finally ending in a draw, both sides winning eight, games, one being halved. • Details of play were as follow, Pox ton players being mentioned (iisi: —'BVirgin beat D. Saxon, Mason beat Blackwood, Trueman beat Cnmqnest, Ilewett lost to 11. Stern, Newton lost ifco 11. >C. Jones, Ross beat W. King, Perreau lost to I. Robinson, Walton and Franks ail square. Ladies, 12 holes: .Miss A. Neyloil lost to Mrs. A. Saxon, Miss Robinson lost to Miss K. Dillon, Mrs. Newton lost to Mrs. T. Aloynihan, Mrs. Walton lost to Mrs. 11. Easton, Mrs. Smith lost to Miss Stern,,Mrs. Stanley beat Miss Easton, Miss L. Neylon heat Miss J. Goodwin, Miss Bo we heat Mrs. Cronques t, Mrs. Moore heat; Miss I*. Saxon. During the afternoon, tea was provided by the focal ladies for w 1 1 o.iu cheers were given by the visitors.
