FOXTON BOWLING CLUB

PRESIDENT’S ANNUAL REPORT. The following is the President’s (Air. Heyes) report to he submitted to the annual general meeting of members of 'the Foxton Bowling Club, to be held this evening:— ( Tn presenting the animat report I have to thank the members of the Club for their hearty cooperation during my term of office as President. The year has been a most successful one from a playing and financial point of view. The. green, thanks to the efforts of members who have taken a keen interest in its welfare, has played better than it had for some veal's past. This has led to enthusiasm on the part of members in their play, and a pleasing feature was that the green was practically full during most evenings. During the year the following Competitions were taken part in: The Triangular Shield, Fletcher Shield and the Alanson and Barr Cup, all of which the Club were successful in bringing to Foxton. In the iQiub competitions keen interest was shown, the Wilford Cup being won by a first-year player, Air. J. Newt’ll, whom I heartily congratulated. The Barr trophies were won by Alessrs Alattar and Heppner, who are also to be congratulated on their consistent form during the year. The cup for this latter competition was presented by Air. J. Barr, and was the means of. creating interest in Club competitions. We are deeply indebted to him (for these cups, and I would suggest that a letter of thanks be sent to Air. Ban’, expressing the Club’s appreciation. (One rink took part in the Easter tournament, and gave a good account of them-

selves by getting into section play. The same rinlk competed in the Alanawatu Champion of Champions, and were the runners-up in thelmal game. 'The balanee-sffijet shows a healthy state of affairs. Wie started the year with outstanding accounts amounting to roughly £7O; but of that we have paid off £SB. This has been made possible by a number of members coming forward with donations of £1 1/-. The refreshment account shows a nett profit of £1 16/9, which must be .considered very satisfactory. During the year a very successful concert was held, which brought the Club in the net sum of £7 18/-, thanks is due to the efforts of All*. Couch in arranging the concert. In conclusion I wish to again thank the members for their loyal support in (all matters pertaining to the welfare of the Club generally.”
