NEW ZEALAND HOSPITAL SYSTEM.
ON THE RIGHT LINE'S. Auckland, July 6. Dr. T. H. Valin tine, administrative head of the Health Department, who Ireturn'ed by the lonic to-day, •has very little to say in regard to his trip. Pie attended the Congress of Hygiene International at Paris, and also inspected a number of hospitals. “I have come hack,” he said, “'extremely /pleased with New Zealand hospitals. • There is no doubt we are on the right lines, and have a poorer system in 'vogue. Moreover, we have in New Zealand a system of administration which even those of older countries like England and Scotland, although •they have excellent institutions, could copy with advantage. Their difficulties are that they have no assured finance such as we have in New Zealand, and they have to depend almost entirely upon public generosity and benefactions.”
