GAS WORKS

JUNE WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of June was 363,600 feet, which with the amount in the holder on May 31st 17,000 feet made a total of 330,600 feet. During the month 307,900 feet was used by consumers, A),000 feet at the works and there was 17,000 feet in (the holder on June 30th, making a total of 344,900 feet accounted for and leaving 35,700 feet representing 9.3 pe|r cent, unaccounted for. Thirty-six tons, 13 envt. of coal Were carbonised, yield - ing 10,100 c.feet of gas to the ton and producing 8 tons of coke. ‘The receipts for the month totalled £l6O 3/4 and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £.19 4/5, heat and power £125 13/-, coke sales £8 10/5, tar sales 2/-, services and fitting £6 5/-, miscellaneous 8/6. The expenditure for 'the month totalled £236 0/9 and was made up as follows: —Coal £lO2 18/5, salaries and -wages £SO 14/4, services and fittings £7 5/6, tools 19/3, engine repair and oil £lO 10/-, general repairs 6/-, Interest and Sinking Fund £63 7/3. GAS MANAGER’S REPORT. The Gas Mjanagelr (Mr. W. S. Heyes) reported that the plant was working satisfactorily. During the month three blocked services wei’e attended-to and two faulty services repaired. —Adopted.
