NEW ZEALAND MANUFACTURERS’ EXHIBITION.

Visitors —both young and old —to the forthcoming Wellington'Winter 'Show, to be Mi eld from July 9th to 27th, in the new and large Exhibition Buildings, will find many.exhibits of an new andlargeExhibitnon Buildings, will find many exhibits of an interesting and educative value. Amongst the moving exhibits showing some processes of manufacture will be seen the following:—A model of the latest paint grinding imaebine actually grinding the product; the manufacture of shirts and pyjamas, showing machines making buttonholes, and another actually sewing the buttons on, also a twoneedle seahuing m'aielnine doing 4,000 stitches per minute; envelopes being made by a maiehine that can turn out 35,000 per day at the same time counting them into packets of twenty-five; a knitting im-ae-hine in'connection with the woollen industry; cigarette and pipe tobaieco made from New Zealand grown leaf and illustrated by a cinema picture. The various uses of gas and’ electricity will be shown also, while other industries represented will be engineering, furniture, soap, 'motor body building, bacon, confectionery, biscuits and knives, poultry, etc. A model engineering section will contain models of a varied character, the centre attraction being a. model railway station and seven trains continually in motion. Parents are asked to draw the children's attention to the essay competition arranged hv the Wellington Manufacturers’ Association, the prize! money amounting to £lO 10/-. The subject is, “Why we should buy and use New Zealand made goods.”
