Evidence of the business stability in Palmerston North and district is afforded bv the decreasing number of bankruptcies. During the past six {months sixteen failures have been recorded in the Palmerston N. bankruptcy district, which embraces Levin, Foxton, Feilding and other centres, but actually there have been only six adjudi’catioi s in Palmerston North. During the corresponding period of 1928, petitions filed in the Palmerston North bankruptcy district numbered 2-0, and of those 11 deait with actual failures in that centre.

Three bankruptcies were recorded this month, compared with five in June of last yeai*.
