PERSONAL.

Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Ileyes have returned to Fox’ton after a fort- , night spent in the Auckland and Taranaki disrticts. Mr. H. Or. B. McDonald, first assistant master at the Levin District High School, lias-received notice of his appointment to the South Wellington School as first assistant, and will take up 'his new position on August Ist. The funeral of the late Mr. J. E. Perreau took place on Sunday afternoon and was attended by a large and representative number of mourners. The service was held at ■the residence of deceased’s son, Mr. M. E. Penreau, prior to the cortege leaving for the cemetery. The last rites were conducted 'by the Rev. J. H. Edmondson (Methodist). Crs. John Ross, and IS. E. Cowley, Messrs R. N. iSpeirs, iWm. Trueman, D. Christie and R. Bryant were the pall-bearers.
