FIRE AT MOTUITI.

FIVE-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED. A five-roomed house, owned by Mr W. E. Barbei- and located on Mr Barber’s property at Motuiti, occupied by Mr and Mrs R, Green and family, was totally destroyed by fire at an early hour -this morning, the occupants barely escaping in their clothes. The cause of the Are is not known but a fire was left alight in the dining room fireplaice when the family retired last evening and this was, presumably, the cause of the outbreak. Mr Barber had. the house insured for £4OO and Mr Green had a cover' of £3OO in the Royal Exchange on the contents.
