TAR-SEALING BEACH ROAD

DISCUSSED BY MANAMA TU COUNTY COUNCIL. At Monday’s meeting of the Manawatu County Council, a letter was received from the Foxton Harbour Board requesting the council to tarseal the Foxton-Beaich road at: the earliest opportunity. The board stated that this road was fast becoming a settlers’ road and the increasing traffic called for an improved thoroughfare. The board also urged on the County the need for controlling the Sanatorium road in order to abate the sand nuisance now obtaining between Hartley’s corner and the Beach store. It was resolved to inform the board that tile, council would consider tar-sealing the Beach road when the main highways in the county had been completed.
