THE SALVATION ARMY.
VISIT OF COMMISSIONER AND CHIEF SECRETARY. Seldom in the history of the Salvation Army does Colmmissioner and Chief Secretary, accompanied by their wives, visit a place together. Such is to be the unique experience of Foxton on Thursday night, at 8 o’clock, in the Salvation Army Hall, Avenue Road, where Commissioner Hay, 0.8. E. is advertised to give a stirring and interesting lecture on “Personal Reminiscences of General William Booth.” Interest is added to the visit by reason of the fact that Colonel and Mrs. Taylor have just been appointed Second in Command of New Zealand from Canada. A full hall is anticipated. Captain Hayes, who is well-known to lo!cal (residents, will also be with the party.
