OBITUARY
CAPTAIN E. J. HARVEY. The death took place at Wellington last- night of Captain E. J. Harvey, at the age of 82 years. The late Captain Harvey was one of the best known master mariners trading to Wellington, having been associated with (shipping to that port for over 50 yeai-s, and a-s master of the s.s. Queen of the South for 30 years. The deceased was closely associated with the late Mr. William Signal, of Foxton, in connection with both steamers Napier and Queen of the 'South, and with the latter vessel traded- to Foxton over a long period. The funeral will take place at Wellington to-morrow afternoon, leaving (the late residence of deceased, Roxburgh Street -at 2.30 o’clock. Details of the career of the late Captain Harvey are not yet available, but will be -published in our issue of Thursday.
