Miss J. M.'Mountfort has heen appointed to the position of infant mistress on the staff of the local District High School. A well-known and much-respeet-ed Wellington business man, Mr Robert Helrron, passed away on Saturday, in his 80th year. An old and highly-respected resident. of the Kiwitea County, Mr Thoimas Alan Bryce, died a>t Kimholton on Friday, lie was the eldest son of the late Hon. John Bryce, but unlike his father liad not takeu an active part in public affairs, being content to carry on the pursuit of farming in The district, with which the family name has heen for so long associated.
