OTAKI MEETING. LADY LIMOND MfNS 'CUP. Tll'l A HANDICAP TO MAUI. Favoured with brilliant weather, the Otaki Maori Racing Club enjoyed an excellent attendance of patrons for the opening day of its whiter injecting on Saturday and, as a dUred result, betting activities were brisk throughout, the sum of 110,011 10s being handled as compared with .£14,025 10s last year — an increase of £1,986. The principal honours fell to Lady Limond, who led from end to end to register a striking victory in the Raukawa Cup from Paitomi and Bli'inr Root, although the Foxton representative appeared to he sore at the conclusion of her task. With Maui coining from the ruck to score a splendid win in the Hnia Handicap from ‘Consent and Mouloa Treasnlry, Foxton representalives thereby accounted for the two chief events.
