ONE OF LIFE’S LITTLE TRAGEDIES.
A year ago last August there was a wedding at St. Louise en L’lle, in Paris, that, was notable for more than its spectacular magnificence, states an exchange. The bride, who wore over her wonderful white satin dress and priceless diamond jewellery the picturesque style of cloak worn at the old French Courts, was the Princess Czartoryska, descendant of a King of France, while her bridegroom, resplendent in scarlets and blue uniform, was Prince Gabriel of Bour-bon-Sieiles, a member of the Bourbon royal family. Among the throng of Royalist guests were no fewer than eight princes and princesses of Bomb on blood, who were marshalled by ushers in the scarlet and gold brocaded coats, scarlet breeches, and white-plumed gold tricornes of oldtilme ceremonial. As befitted such associations with royalty, the Pope sent a special Nuptial Benediction. It was a great hour for the Royalists of France, lint it. is recalled to-day with sorrow, for the charming young bride who was the centre of all its glory has just died at Cannes, two months after the birth of her baby.
