RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT.
MORE PRODUCTIVE WORK PROPOSED. Dunedin, Last Night. In speaking of Government efforts to relieve unemployment, the Minister of Public Works (Hon. E. A. Ransom) said this morning that the whole question of relief was at present (being looked into and it was hoped very soon to establish new schemes of work which would prove more productive than imueh of the work at present in hand. These plans, however, were not fully developed, so no definite pronouncement could Ibe made at present.
