The unsuccessful candidate for the Otaki Mayoralty, in returning thanks after the election, said: “Three years ago I told the ratepayers that the borough was going batik, and now I consider that this is what I anight term a ‘ready-up’ Council. It is, I consider, a unanimous body that will go on in its tin-pot way and one that will not study the ratepayers. This you will eventually find out for yourselves.”
