CHOCOLATE FACTORY SITE
FOXTON RECOMMENDED BY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. A special meeting of the Foxton Chamber of Commerce was held on Tuesday evening for the purpose of discussing the matter of placing before the Cadbivry-Fry’s Company the possibilities of Foxton as a.site for their proposed new factory in New Zealand. There was a large attendance at the meeting, which was presided over by Mr. J. KHornblow (President). The President outlined the proposal and Mr. D. Christie said that he considered the Chamber would be failing in its duty if it did not endeavour to have the factory located at Foxton. Foxton could after plenty of room for a factory and workers’ homes. The company required transit by rail and sea. This was offering at .Foxton while cheap land, electric power and light mid an almplc supply of water Avas ; available. Mr. Smitn endorsed Mr. Christie’s remarks and said the Chamber should lose no time in pressing Foxton's claim on the company. Mr. Barron said that another big factor in favour of the Foxton site was that an auiple supply of some of the best milk in New Zealand avould be available. The matter was one of the most important that had ever been discussed by the Chamber and they should lose no opportunity in taking the matter up. The matter was left iu the hands of the President and Mr. Christie.
