Constable J. V. Bell is at present on relieving .duty in Shannon. Mr. and Mrs. J. Newton have , returned to Poxton after spending i a holiday in Auckland. Mr. Thom'as Irvine, headmaster of the Clyde Quay, 'School since 1925, had a heart attack in his office at ten o’clock yesterday morning- and died before the doctor could arrive. He was to have retired cn superannuation at the end of this year. At the recent wedding of Mr. James Coley jnr. to Mavis Janet Weatherston, celebrated on the 24th April, Air. George Coley jnr., cousin of the bridegroom, officiated as best man. This was inadvertently omitted from our report on Thursday. The wedding took place at All Saints’ Church, Haitaitai (Wellington) on Tuesday last of Air. Harold Frankland, son of Airs. F. W. Ftankland, late of Foxton. The bride was Aliss Dorothy Fairlmll, of Wellington, who was given away by her uncle Dr. Palmer. The officiating minister was the Rev. Air. Sykes. After the ceremony relatives of .the bridal party and intimate friends were entertained at breakfast by the bride’s mother. The toast of the bridal couple was proposed by Air. A. J. Toogood (uncle of the bridegroom), and that of the parents of the bride and groom by the Rev. Air. Sykes and responded to iby Dr. Palmer (on behalf of the mother of the bride) and Air. ,J. K. (Hornlblow (on behalf of Mrs. Frankland). Mr. and Mrs. Frankland left for the North on their honeymoon and will, on their return, take up their residence in Wellington.
