TENNIS

The local friends of Mr. N. A. Ross, now of Carterton, will be pleased to learn that he is making a name for himself on the Carterton tennis courts. He maintained a good length, and used his side-line and cross-court shots with telling effect. Bunny had tired, and his stroking was Aveak and uncertain. Ross carried off the set, 6/3, and the 1929 championship, and Avas the recipient of hearty congratulations, Mr. Bunny being first to extend his compliments. A rather remarkable feature of the second set \A r as that not a single deuce Avas called, each game being won with four strokes, or six at the (most.
