Ross, a young player of great promise. The weather was fine, but a down-court wind made things rather uncomfortable. Winning the toss, Ross commenced serving down wind, and took the first game to love. Bunny replied similarly with the second, but frohn. then on each gaJme was strenuously contested, long deuces being argued always. Bunny lead at 5/3, but Ross, playing his deep drives well, and brilliantly passing Bunny when the latter came in to the net, evened to 5 all. The gaime then see-sawed, first one and then the other having the advantage till Ross finally took the first set, 9/7. The second set fell from grace rather badly, Ross predominating throughout. He maintained a good length, and used his side-line and cross-court shots with telling effect. Bunny had tired, and his stroking was Aveak and uncertain. Ross carried off the set, 6/3, and the 1929 championship, and Avas the recipient of hearty congratulations, Mr. Bunny being first to extend his compliments. A rather remarkable feature of the second set \A r as that not a single deuce Avas called, each game being won with four strokes, or six at the (most.
