SATISFACTORY POSITION SHOWIN. Judging by the figures presented iby the treasurer (Mr A. K. Drew) at Tuesday’s meeting' of the ManaAvatu Countv Council, indications are that the Council ,\vill come thro/ugh the finanlei'al year with a substantial credit balance. The finances of the County for the 'month of March were shown as follows: —'County fund account, dr. £390 4/-, main highways loan account, or., £1,224 15/10; loan account, cr., £3,117 8/6, net credit balance, £3,942 0/4. Amounts available for expenditure in the various ridings were given as under: —Sandon £BB 4/3, Mt. Stewart £47 16/4, Waitohi £l3 2/-, Rongotea £l7 6/1, Carnarvon £143 5/2, Awahou £157 6/7: Kawa Raiwa riding was as being over-expended to the amount of £246 18/4.
