Aii 'advertisement appearing in the Western Evening Herald in October, announcing the sale of new season’s Canterbury lamb, led to the successful prosecution of a {butcher by tlie New Zealand Meat Board. As the new season does not open in New Zealand till November the advertisement was palpably false. The ease was heard at Plymouth Police Court, and the allegation was made against a wellknown Plymouth firm, Alford Stores, Ltd,, of JOeyonport, that they sold South Amerkmw lamib for New Zealand lamib. The full charge was that they “unlawfully sold to the prejudice of the purchaser a certain article of food, to wit,-but-cher's’ meat njfj.t of the nature, substance, and quality demanded by such purchaser on December 15, 1928,”
