BOWLING
EASTER TOURNAMENT. Yesterday saw the conclusion of the clilminating rounds in the Easter rinks bowling tournament conducted by the Manawatu Centre.Of the 38 rinks entered only 13 survive to contest the semi-finals which commenced this morning. Seven wins in the nine games played were obtained by four rinks, six wins being necessary to qualify. The Foxton rink —Heyes, Chrisiie, John Ross, Thomson (s) were successful in qualifying 1 for the semi-final play, having secured 6 wins out of the nine games played. TO-DAY’S DRAW. First game (commencing at 9 ,m): Crawford (Karori) plays J. M. Thomson (Foxton), C. J. B. Norwood (Victoria) plays J. ,B. Reid (Lyall Bay), C. Pickering (Palmerston N.) plays G. G. Wilson (Palmerston N.), J. M. Brackenridge (Victoria) plays J. Kershaw (Manawatu), L. Brown (Palmerston N.) plays D. Munro (Island Bay), W. Crump (Palmerston N.), G. W. Wardrop (Woodville), N. 11. Nash (Palmerston N.) byes. Second game: Pickering or Wilson plays Brackenridge or Kersliaw, Nonvood or Reid plays Brown or Munro, Nash plays Crump, Wiardrop plays Thomson or CraAvford.
