THE CARNIVAL EFFORT.
The carnival effort to raise funds to provide a permanent home for the local branch of the Plunket Society is meeting with a .generous response -from both town and country dwellers. The amount of time and effort expended by members of the various committees indicates a generous spirit .and is very commendable, but the -parents of the baby -candidates bear the full weight of -sustained effort and the sacrifices they ,arc making is an incentive to all taking part. It has not yet been stated what the objective aimed at is, but probably -the carnival executive .will, at a later date, make a statement in this connection. In the /meantime it is hoped that all who can assist the various committees will do so having only ip fliiind the olbjelct in view.
