DEMAND FOR ELECTRICITY.
STEADY PROGRESS SHOWN. The following analysis of the connected electrical load to March 13 th Was presented at the meeting of the Horowhenua Power Board on Tuesday by the Engineer (Mr. J. A. Smith): — k.w. Lighting 1042 No. Tl. h.p. Industrial motors 315 2833 Milking motors 420 611 Heating and iron k.w. points 2872 2075 Ranges 370 2332 Water heaters 634 401 No. of consumers - Connected 2973 Applications 3008 Total connected k.w. 8422 In his report covering the past month, the Engineer stated that four applications for installations from new consumers and 25 applications for extensions to existing installations had been received, comprising six ranges, two waterheaters, and two milking, four industrial and four pumping motors. Eleven new. consumers and 19 extensions had been connected, including five ranges, seven waterheaters, two milking motors, and three industrial motors —a total increase of 59.233 k.w.
