GAS WORKS.
JANUARY WORKING. The amount of gas manufactured during the month of January was 328,500 ft., which with the amount in the holder ,on January Ist 17,000 ft. made a total of 345,500 ft. During the month 275,700 ft. were used by consumers, 20,000 ft. at the works and there was 17,000 ft. in the holder on January 31st, making a total of 312,700 ft. accounted for and leaving 32,000 ft. unaccounted for. Thirty-ione tons 9cwt. of coal were carbonised, yielding 10,461 c.ft. of gas to the ton and producing 5 tons of coke. The receipts for the month totalled £144 11s Od and were made up as follows:—Gas sales (lighting) £2O Is 4d, heat and power £IOB 9s 3d, coke sales £8 11s 7d, tar sales 11/-, services and fittings £5 9s 10d, miscellaneous £1 8s Od. The expenditure for the month totalled £192 f6s lid and was made “up as follows: —Coal £BB 10s 2d, salaries and wages £4O 14s Od, cartage aud freight 4/8, interest and sinking fund £63 7s 3d.
