TOWN HALL. Thrilling night scenes, dramatic gun battles, intense.love sequences and a good smattering of human interest, are the highlights in “The Escape,” a Fox Films production at the Town Hall on Friday. Fox made no mistake when he cast this picture. Virginia Valli as May Joyce is superb. Her acting, which seems to improve with each Fox release, is the essence of perfection in this screen version of Paul Armstrong’s play. 'Some actresses have been called “beautiful but brainless.” It has been suggested that we call Miss Valli “beautiful hut brainy.” She certainly must use her brains in this one. Situations are tense, lives hang in the balance and, at times,.'even the fair Virginia herself seems on the verge of destruction. Richard Jtosson, directing, has handled the most difficult scenes With the highest touch of the true artist. An excellent picture from an A-l story! See it, by all means. Usual prices. Monte Blue will be seen iii a big lighting role in Saturday’s feature picture “Brass Knuckles.”
