The Department of Health has received the following notifications of infectious diseases in the hospital districts of the Wellington Health District for the week ended yesterday (the figures for the previous week being given in parenthesis) : Wanganui-Horowhenua: Scarlet fever, 4 (12) ; diphtheria, O' (2); tuberculosis, 1 (1); pneumonia, 3 (1); poliomyelitis, 0 (1).. Wbir arapa - Hawke’s Bay: Scarletfever, 6 (7); diphtheria, 3 (3); tuberculosis, 5 (1); puerperal fever, 0 (1); leprosy* 0 (1); eclampsia, 1 (0). Central Wlellington: Scarlet lever, 12 (7); diphtheria, 16 (12); pneumonia, 1 (4); tuberculosis, 2 (1); puerperal fever, 0 (1); pneumonic influenza, 1(0); erysipelas, 1 (0); trachoma, (0) (1). NelsonMarlborough: S'carlet fever, 1 (0); septic albortion 1 (0); diphtheria, 0 (1).
