SEMI-FINAL IFOR BARR GUP. The ylraw for the semi-final of the Barf Cup has resulted as follows : (2) W. S. Heyes and H. Halmer v. AL 11. Walker and E. Parkin. (4) F. Woods and W. H. Nicholas v. J. AL Thomson and AI. E. Perreau. (4) John Ross and James Ross v. D. Christie and A. P. Easton. S. Alattar a bye. Play yesterday afternoon resulted as follows: — M. H. Walker and E. Parkin defeated W. S. Heyes and H. Hamer, and J. AI. Thomson and Perreau defeated F. Woods and W. H. Nicholas. The final for the Barr Trophy swill be played between Thomson’s tea'm and the winner of the D. Christie —John Ross contest. PRESENTATION TO MR. PEARSON. A pleasant social function took place on the green yesterday afternoon when members met Mr. C. A. Pearson and made a presentation of a set of pipes to him, prior to his departure from'Poston. The presentation was made by the President (Mr. W. S. Heyes) who referred to All*. Pearson’s long membership of the Club and expressed regret that he was leaving Foxton. IJis fellow members wished him every success for the future. The President’s remarks were endorsed by the Alayor (Air. AI. E. Perreau) who also referred to tho excellent work Airs. Pearson had done in the interests of both the Bowling and Croquet Clubs. Mr. p. Woods also added his eulogies to those of the previous speakers'. Air. Pearson suitably replied and thanked the members for their presentation and expressions of goodwill.
