PERSONAL.
Mjrs, H. Reid is at present spending a holiday in Wellington. Mrs. I. Corn returned to Foxton after a visit to Auckland on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. 11. f). and Miss Buirby, of Auckland, are visiting Mr and Mrs. E. R. Booth, of Foxton. The many friends of Mrs. Bather - ley snri» will be pleased to learn that she is progressing favourably after an operation in the Northcote Private Hospital, at Palmerston N.
A motion of sympathy with Mr. Win. Ross seur., in his recent illness was passed at the monthly meeting of the. Foxton Chamber of Commerce, held on Thursday evening.
Messrs Burns, Managing Direetor of the Christchurch Press, Henderson (Lyttelton Times) and Furness (Marlborough Press), Blenheim, arrived in Foxton last evening en route to Wellington from Rotorua .where they have been attending the Press Conference.
Mr. F. G. Cray, who has been in indifferent health for some time, is leaving this week for Picton Sounds, in order to recuperate, and will return to Wellington, on March 6th.
Mr. L. G. Lowry has, at the request of several residents; decided to 'be a candidate fir the Otaki Licensing Bench at the coining election.—Otaiki Mail
