SUSPECTS ARRESTED

At the Wloodville racecourse yesterday afternoon two brothers, named Ryan, were arrested in connection with the daring theft of mails frotoi the ferry steamer Wahine on the night of February 9. /The theft from the Wahine is believed to be the largest robbery of New Zealand mail matter in the history of the Dominion postal servioe. Soon after the arrival of the ferry steamer Wahine at Wellington from Lyttelton, it was found that about 40 bags of mail had been opened and part of the registered contents stolen. There, was no evidence that non-registered letters had been interfered with. Levin, Last Night. In connection with the recent mail robbery from the ferry steamer Wahine, suspicion fastened upon two Otaki youths, who were arrested in Wellington this morning. Some of the money believed to have been stolen from the mails has been secured.
