DISTRICT MATERNITY HOMES

At the Palmerston North Hospital Board meeting on Thursday Mr. V. E. Smith (Feilding) gave notice that lie would move at next meeting, that the Board consider the establishing of a Maternity Home at Feilding when framing the estimates for next year. Mr. J. K. Horn'blow: And I think Foxton and Levin should each’have one too. Mr. J. A. Nash asked Mr. Smith if Feilding would raise some of the money. The chairman (Sir J. G. Wilson) reminded Mr. Smith that the money in Palmerston North was found by the public and he hoped Mr. Smith would be able to tell the next meeting what Feilding was prepared to do. Mr. Smith said lie hoped to get some assistance from the Board. Mr. G. A. Monk urged that the Otaki Maternity Home should be got going first —one at a time was his idea of the mattei*.
