PERSONAL.
Mr. C. H. Symons has returned from a holiday visit to Wellington. Mrs. C. A. Pearson is at present on a visit to Wellington. Miss A. M. Williams has returned to Foxton from a holiday in Pieton. Mr. and Mrs. and Miss Killick, of Wellington, paid a brief visit to Foxton to-day. Mrs. G.. Fraser received a cable yesterday from England informing her of the death of her father. Masters T ; heo Perreau and G. Alexander, pupils of the local D.H. School, were successful in passing the Public Service entrance examination held in November last. The Education Board has appointed Miss E. Crowe a probationer on the staff of the local District High School who will commence duty on Monday next. It is understood that Mr. Robert Kennedy, of the Wellington firm of Messrs Luke and Kennedy, will be appointed to a judgeship on the Supreme Court bench. A confirmatory announcement is expected to-mor-row. The) vacent position of lady principal of the Palmerston North Girls’ High School caused by the tragic death of. the late Miss F. J. W. Hodges, has been filled by the appointment of Mrs. M. Rhodes M.A., who during Miss Hodges’ long illness was acting principal of the school.
