FIRE IN SUB-STATION.

ELECTRIC POWER CUT OFF. TE KUITI, Jan. 17. Due to a current transformer breakdown in a trifurcating box at the Hangatiki sub-station, a fire occurred in the station about 5.45 p.m. to-day. Tho Waitonio Power Board’s, area is without light and power, but it is expected to have it restored in several hours. Extensive damage was done to the station equipment. The attendant happened to be absent from the station, otherwise lie would hare been incinerated. The fire burned for 20 minutes and occurred during the milking period, thus inconveniencing dairy farmers.
