HOPES TO MEET DEMPSEY,

.New York, January 16. Tom' Heeney bas started training. He has hopes of meeting Jack Dempsey in September. Heeney returned to the United States with the intention of becoming a diamond importer, but the late Mr. Rickqrd and Mr. Harvey, -persuaded him to continue boxing. Mr. Rickard stated that he wanted Heeney to fight Paelino Ux-cudun, the winner to iineet Sharkey, or St-rib-ling, and then Dempsey. Although recognising the doubt as to Dempsey’s plans consequent on Mr. Rickard's death, Heeney today said: “As long as Dempsey is going to he in it, I guess the best I can do is to get in there and light for a chance to meet him. I’d just love a fight with Paolini. That’s one guy I can lick. If I can’t whip him, I’m going to quit and get started in the diamond business.”
