SIR HARRY LAUDER’S FIRST MAKO.
Auckland, January 8. Fishing from a launch off Cape Brett, this morning, -Sir Harry Lauder brought his first encounter with New Zealand salt water game fish to a successful conclusion, by capturing a mako shark, weighing approximately 25011 b. 'The fishing qualities of the mako were a revelation to Sir Harry, who landed his prize after) strenuous and patient fighting for an hour and a half. He and his party are highly impressed with deep sea angling, and consider the sporting camp on Urupu'kapuka Island, where they are staying, to be one of the most ideal in their experience.
