DUNEDIN BURGLARY.

JEWELLER’S STOCK BAGGED. Dunedin, Last Night. A daring burglary was committed on Tuesday night in the premises of E. J. Townsend, jeweller of George Street, resulting in the loss of £3OO worth of stock, including the entire stock) of rings and watches, besides gold chains, silver cigarette cases and fountain pens. An unsuccessful search was made for the keys of the safe, which contained about £4O in cash. Entrance was gained by breaking the back door off its hinges and sawing through the lo wer panels of a side door, connecting the shop with a passageway. The adjoining shop of F. Lawson, bookseller and the tailor’s workroom occupied by R. G. Tyrrel were also entered, but nothing was taken.
