INFANT CHILD KILLED. Auckland, Last Night. A motor-car accident at Otaua, near Waiuku, resulted in the death of the infant son of a Mrs. Wilson, who was on a visit to Mrs. Sam Bright, of Otaua. The car was being driven on the rnlain road toward Otaua, when one of the tyres blew out. The car skidded and capsized. The other passengers escaped with shock and bruises. MOTOR CYCLIST DIES OF INJURIES. Dunedin, Last Night.Whilst riding a motor-cycle from Palmerston to Dunedin this afternoon Henry Percival Whyborn, a farm labourer, 21 years of age, was thrown heavily from bis machine. He was picked up unconscious and brought to Dunedin Hospital where he was found to be suffering from severe head injuries, but despite treatment he died at 7.15 this evening. His parents reside in Salisbury Street, Kaikorai. WOMAN KILLED IN NEW PLYMOUTH. New Plymouth, Last Night Amah el I a Hughes, aged 52, wife of William Hughes, a storeman, Was killed in a motor sm'ash to-night. The car avAs full of passengers and apparently Mrs. Hughes was sitting on. the knee of another in the back seat. , , , The car left the road and plunged into a ditch. The jolt threw Mrs. Hughes out on her head. She was dead when the doctor arrived. None of the -other passengers were injured. TWO INJURED IN EARLY MORNING SMASH. Hokitika, January 2. A collision between two cars at two o’clock on New Year’s morning at a street intersection resulted m both ears being considerably damaged Four occupants of one car were injured, Pearl Olsen, receiving concussion, Albert Williams a broken collarbone, and the others severe shock. Both drivers Were uninjured. DEATH OF ANOTHER VICTIM AT HOROTIU. Hamilton, January 2. Mrs. Lindsay Anderson, aged 25, of Auckland, who was injured at. the level crossing accident at Horotiri, succumbed this morning to her injuries. The other injured persons, Alexander Armstrong and Miss Molly Armstrong are in a serious condition.
