TOWN HALL. Florence Vidor is again given the opportunity to display her talents as a comejdienne in her latest Paramount starring vehicle, “The Magnificent Flirt,” a French farce, which will show at the Town Hall on Wednesday. Miss Vidor plays the role of a flirtatious woman of wealth who gets the attention of a count, the uncle of the boy who loves her daughter. The boy asks Miss Vidor for the girl’s hand, and she consents. He is so happy that he kisses Miss Vidor. This kiss is seen by the count, who refuses to allow the boy to marry her daughter as a result. The uncle does not know that it was his own nephew he saw kissing Miss Vidor. The boy defends her and the count desides to put the “magnificent flirt” to a test. Miss Vidor vindicates herself in a humorous manner. Also “Blake of Scotland Yard” (Serial), “Horseshy” (Comedy), and News. Usual prices. Karl Dane and George K. Arthur of “Rookies” fame, will star on Friday night in “Detectives.” ROYAL. Not even a policeman will be able to find a technical fault in the manner in which the actual police drill team scenes in “The Shield of Honour,” the Universal which comes to the Royal theatre here Saturday were handled. They are said to he perfect in every detail for with the exception of the moro prominent figures in the cast, who impersonate officers in the picture, all the other police officers are members of the Los Angeles police department and were actually ou a field day when the picture was taken. 2500 policemen were used in these thriller scenes which were taken in Exposition Park, one of the largest and best public parks in Southern California, the men working under Chief Davis of the Los Angeles Police Department. A thrilling climax with a spectacular airplane race and air fighting galore finish this picture with some of the most melodramatic plots in the history of the aviation division of the law. The stellar cast embraces such well known players as Neil Hamilton, Ralph Lewis, Dorothy Gulliver, Thelma Todd, Joe Girard and a host of others. Emory Johnson, directed the picture. Ralph Lewis, Neil Hamilton and Dorothy Gulliver are the leading players.
