MOTOR FATALITIES

Waimate, Last Night. William Alfred Charles Broad, aged 22, a single man, a grocer’s assistant, of Geraldine, was killed in a collision with a motor lorry four miles from Waimate at seven o’clock last evening. Deceased was driving a car containing his father and mother, returning from a bowling match at Waimate. The struck the lorry on a bridge, continuing over the bridge through a wire fence and down a 14-foot bank. Deceased’s neck was broken. His mother sustained a broken collarbone and his father severe facial injuries. Auckland, Last Night. Hugh Alexander Cannnock, aged 16, was knocked down and killed by a motor-car at Westfield at 10 o’clock last night. His parents reside at Onehunga.
