. PROFICIENCY RESULTS. The following pupils of-the primary department of the above school have qualified for standard 6 Proficiency Certificates: — Boys.—James Chrystall, Charles Croon, Robert Henricksen, Reginald Ilowe, Jack Irons, ' Robert Judd, Kura Matthews, Alfred Mounsey, Charles Parker, Alfred Stevenson, Gordon Stone, Leicester Thompson, Horace Tongs, Donald Wilson, Wallis Hart. Girls. —Audrey Barron, Ethel Brittain, Louie Henricksen, Eunice Lee, Ella Hutchins, Rea Osborne, Zenn McCartney, Rose Munn, Elsie Rout, Ada Roore, Patricia Satherley, Joyce Shaw, Margaret Stevenson, Lexie Tollison, Sylvia Williams. COMPETENCY. The following qualified for Competency Certificates: — Madge King, Olive Potts, Ruby Wilson, Eileen Francis, Zillah Hartley. On Tuesday next the children of standard 6 will entertain their parents, committee members and their wives and the teaching staff at afternoon tea iii the cookery room of the High School building. The headmaster is particularly anxious to see a full muster of parents to whom he hopes to have an opportunity of speaking on the subject of post primary education. BOCK MEMORIAL PRIZES, 1928. The above prizes which are awarded annually to the dux boy and dux girl of the primary and se-' condary departments of the school have this year been won by the following pupils:— , Secondary, department.— Dux girl, Margaret Tyer; dux boy, Malcolm Mason. Primary department. —Dux girl, Zena McCprtney; dux boy, Charles Parker. PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The presentation of certificates and prizes will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday, 19th inst., when the breaking-up ceremony will he held. INTER-SCHOOLS TOURNA MENT. Parents and friends are also asked to patronise by their presence the inter-school tournament next Saturday, when a triangular contest will be held between the secondary departments of the Levin, Marton, and Foxton District High Schools. The whole day will be devoted to a comprehensive programme of tennis, swimming, and athletic events, and the winner of the whole tournament will be the holder, foi>one year, of the Thompson Shield—-a valuable shield which is to be competed for annually at Foxton. It is hoped that the public will extend their whole-hearted patronage to this initial gathering.
