ROYAL.
Those who look forward to thrills will find plenty in Ufa’s “Peaks of Destiny,” a Cinema Art Films release, to be shown at the Royal tonight. Some will find the ski-race even more fascinating than the majestic snow views. The whole of this “Cross country” race is jiresejited in detail, with leaps that make the hair stand on end, even when one is seated comfortably in the audience. Some of the runs are down slopes considerably steeper than the roof of a house, while there are long leaps like the flight of birds. This latest creation introduces under its melodrama title a mass of amazingly beautiful Alpine material, woven into a story that expresses something iof the spirit of the mountains amid which it is set. This spirit is epitomised in the fearless bravery of the mountain climbers, and the unrestrained joic-de-vivre of the dancer, who enact the “triangle” drama. Towards the close of the picture contrast is made between the two mountaineer rivals hanging utpon the brink of death in a blizzard, and the girl dancing her new “dance of joy” to a theatre audience. With “Lady Lion” (Comedy), and News. Prices 1/- and 1/6. lOhildren half price.
