PRESBYTERIAN SWEET PEA SHOW.

MASONIC HALL THIS AFTERNOON. This afternoon and this evening the loc/l Presbyterian Church are holding a sweet pea show and sponge cake competition in the Masonic Hall. The entries in the sweet pea section are very good and some fine blooms are on exhibition. A suitable programme has been arranged for this afternoon and provision has been made for afternoon tea, while this evening a children’s recitation competition is to be held. Stalls of various kinds have been arranged, the holders of which are as follows: — Produce, Mesdames H. Satherley, Munn, Woodham, Roore and AleEwen's sweets, Misses Stevenson, B. Speirs and E. Patterson; jumble, Mesdames Barron and Alexander; cake, Mrs. A. Ross. The afternoon tea is in the charge of Mesdames John Ross, J. Thomson, A. F. Stevenson, Haydock and assistants. Admission is by silver coin.
