SWEET PEAS AND CAKE COMPETITION.
The sweet pea show and sale of cakes and produce organised by the ladies of the Presbyterian Church will take place on Thursday afternoon and evening, in the Masonic Hall. In the sweet pea show the Horticultural Society’s sweet pea section will be used, and the prizes, trophies and points prizes will be similar, entrance also to be 6d each entry. The prize of 5/- for bowl of sweet peas is being donated by Mr. Hornblow. In the sponge cake competition a trophy will be given in each of tipi two sections. No entrance fee is charged, but the cakes are to be given in for. sale aftei' the competition is judged. In the afternoon there will be a vocal and instrumental programme, and afternoon tea will be provided. In the evening the programme will take the form of a recitation competition for children. A prize is to be given in each of the four.seclions.
